10 songs from my past.
In my usual search around YouTube I came across a song and a band from my past, one that I use to love when I was at school and much to my parents annoyance I would play loudly. So I decided that I would do one of the blogging sins and create a list of 10 songs that influenced me when I was a child/teenager (It seems a long time ago now).
Adam & The Ants - Probably one of the first bands and songs that I really liked as a child was Stand and deliver by Adam & the Ants. Im not quite sure what it was about it, perhaps the White tape across his nose or when he smashed through the window, who knows. I still on occassion listen to some of there music.
A-HA - An amazing band from Norway who have produced some amazing songs, possibly my favorite was The Sun Always Shines on TV. I got a lot of grief about my sexuality from class mates because of liking this band and a few years later I eventually disowned them and moved on. Although I still argue that they were and are a great band.
Aerosmith - a band my mum hated, possible because they had long hair, something she could never quite come to terms with. The version of Walk this way by Run DMC brought this band to my attention, I think I purchased almost all of their albums.
Iron Maiden is another band that dominated my music collection. The song and video Can I play with madness was and still is a completely awesome song. I have even started work on a fan site for this band www.IronMaiden.tv although its far from complete.
