My son got the DVD for christmas and I have to admit I influenced this purchase somewhat, not seen the film before and was keen to watch it. Perhaps I remember the transformer toys as a kid, which seemed great at the time, a stupid looking robot could turn into a car - How cool is that :D

The movie is has somewhat more advanced robots than when I was a kid. The movie itself is fun and great to watch if you like explosions, special fx, etc.. I do find it quite amusing that nearing the end when the city turns into a war zone how people are still walking round the streets or sipping their coffee in the cafe until a giant robot comes smashing through the window or nearly crushes them. Perhaps things that are happening in the next block don’t concern them.
